This displays some cards for you to print.

The cards form six number patterns with five numbers in each pattern.

Deal the cards out to the class or the group.

It is quite easy to make up equation patterns by starting with something like:
 

1 + 2 = 20 – 17

2 + 3 = 20 – 15

3 + 4 = 20 – 13

Ask students to make up their own equation pattern and give it to a classmate to write down the next two lines.
