Chapter 14 | Shapes
Overview
Rich tasks
These are open-ended tasks to develop understanding of how 2-D and 3-D shapes can be classified by their spatial features. They require students to create ‘machines’ that will sort shapes into groups. The tasks can be given at the start of a topic and done as the students gain enough knowledge to complete them, inserted into a topic at an appropriate place, or given as homework.
