Class sets of textbooks are favoured

By Mel Royal – February 27th 2023

The news is that we continue to receive lots of orders from schools all over the country. These are for ‘class-sets’. And feedback we get is that students aren’t just learning but really enjoying their maths – thanks to our textbooks. That’s brilliant, isn’t it. Because that’s been our author’s ‘raison d’etre’.

Schools are understanding the importance of hard-copy textbooks, which are much less distracting than digital formats.

And, of course, if you haven’t visited our website lately, log in to our Free Online Teacher Support. You’ll be amazed at the wealth of material there. It’s all designed to support and guide with the Curriculum and teaching with each of our 6 textbooks – chapter by chapter. Again, thank you for your feedback on just how much you appreciate this support.

The beauty of our series is that it’s not rigidly fixed to year groups. It’s written in levels. The Ministry of Education set the direction for student learning with the New Zealand Curriculum for Mathematics and Statistics:

After 3 years at school, students will be achieving at Early Level 2.

By the end of year 4, students will be achieving at Level 2.

By the end of year 5, students will be achieving at Early Level 3.

By the end of year 6, students will be achieving Level 3.

By the end of year 7, students will be achieving Early Level 4.

By the end of year 8, students will be achieving Level 4.

Our ‘Connecting All Strands’ series is written so that each level is fully covered by books A and B combined. 2A & 2B for Level 2. 3A & 3B for Level 3. 4A and 4B for Level 4.
