The National Curriculum Mathematics series is written specifically for the New Zealand
Curriculum providing a comprehensive coverage of the level achievement objectives
and suggested learning experience as well as revision from the previous level. The
books with material arranged in strands enable a student or group of students to
work at different levels in their strand.
This attractive and clearly laid out text develops mathematical communication through
“Think about this” activities. “Check Up” and “Looking Back” provide plenty of reinforcement
to aid the learning cycle. Along the way games, puzzles, practicals and investigations
abound. There is lots of material in these books to extend a brighter child.
Pupils love MathU, the cartoon character. In Level 2 Book 1, MathU leads
them through five exciting and enriching lands. In Level 2 Book 2 MathU joins 5
friends - Tui, Dolphin, Kiwi, Lizard and Fantail. In each strand they go to
different, fascinating and magical places. These books are real favourites
with teachers and student alike.
